It is rumoured that a lake near to ours has a disease which is killing the fish.
We do NOT want it at Horseshoe.
As a precaution MAD have BANNED ALL NETS FROM HORSESHOE LAKE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!!!
There are nets avaiable at the lake for use, but please do NOT use any other nets!
Thank you
Jo
There is another rumour going around that this commercial fishery is now safe. I have made enquiries and the tests the EA are carrying out wont be completed until the end of May so no results will be known until then. Personally I do not think the fishery is disease free, but that is my personal opinion.
Job still to do at the lake.
The platforms need making. The nettles need strimming down on the right side of the lake. The bird table needs making and erecting. Old tennis balls needed for vole nests. We need somebody to bring a sharp stanley knife to cut the holes for the football nesting boxes.
Thanks to Fred for making some more bird boxes & some hedgehog houses. They need placing around the lake now. The baby trees have arrived and we have some more water plants.
We will be doing some work on the sign up day.
Also, THE TOILET NEEDS EMPTYING AGAIN! Whos turn is it, cos Jo has done it since we got it and nobody else has!!
Latest piccies of the lake.
How many men does it take to make a bird table?
Love the hedgehog house!
These platforms are ace! Work in progress but we are getting there.
The fish were delivered on the 19th of October, here are some piccies.
We got 1000's of roach, rudd, bream, chub, & carp (normal, ghost & koi)
